Biography of 9Double7:

We all know that; 9 Double 7 is a Underground Rapper Of Nepal Since 2000. They started rapping & recording songs & performing since 2003. In this 9 years they have done over 44 concerts in Nepal, 11 in fm stations, 2 in Dubai and 1 show in Sydney, Australia. They have recorded 42 songs along with collaboration and 1 music video form their album Nepali Bhayera Hera and 2 featured music video with D-Marcha and Bijay Rai.

Currently working for 9Double7 album project giving 9Double7 the recognition with their laid back flow, tight lyrics, and controversial songs, that made them popular within the Nep-Hop community.

9Double7 has also collaborated songs with many Nepali artist such as Mingma Sherpa, Devika Pradhan, Rahul Pradhan & Rhythm A Blend Of culture, Salomy Gurung, Neemu, Mistah k. (Nepsydaz), Christina, Buddha N. Shrestha, D-Marcha, NSK, s2s(Shreshan), Naina, Bishow Shrestha, Anjan, Jehova (Spadix & Ace), Sarad Singh, Lady Rappa- iLLnani Surasha, Christina, Gkaji,Infernal Blaze, Araj Keshav, Badal, Puskar, Bijay Rai & Sitaram Pokhrel.

However, it was the Rap Competition song by 9Double7 with Jehova's (Spadix N Ace) N Bishow Shrestha that gave them publicity with the collaboration on song title "Nepali Bhayera Hera" which won $200 (Rs 15000) cash prize for Manifesto Challenge Organized by WAVE Magazine with Samudaya.org. The Challenge was launched on 2005 to encourage Nepali Hip-Hop artistes to take their work more seriously so that it doesn't end up being just another trend. From all the songs that were submitted, 9Double7’s song "Nepali Bhayera Hera" stood out as winner because of its Powerful N Tight Lyrics, Beat, Flow & Spirit. In class 7 Suraj and his team also became 2nd on National School Drama Competition on 1994 from his school Amar Adarsha Madhyamik Vidalaya.

Though Different media houses, TV channels, FM stations, newspapers, magazines etc. as we say media is selling only the fantasy life of Professionally known hip-hop stars, many are looking to learn from old school underground hip-hop n Nephop. This idea of provoking critical thinking was encouraged by WAVE and samudaya.org with The Manifesto Challenge where 9Double7 won Rs 15,000 cash prize. True Nep-hop artistes understand that hip-hop isn't just music. It’s a culture, set of values and way of life. It speaks the reality.

Suraj and Sudhir says,” Being in Nep-hop for Last 9yrs, We have learnt so many things about hip-hop music, challenges we faced, struggles, people n their views about Nepalese Rap songs & Our Songs. Till now we have recorded around 42 songs along with the some collaboration with other Nep-hop Rappers n Singers from Nepal and Nepalese abroad and even performed in live stage shows and done over 58 concerts and also some live shows in various fm stations. Within these 9 years we went through so many difficulties and challenges. We never turned back and just did what we had to do. And after around 9 year today you can see 9Double7 still Working & Struggling hard in music, still staying underground and still not going to mainstream. 9Double7 is really serious about their music. We work hard for each n every songs. We almost work sometime 1 day or a week, 1 month and even 2 years to complete each song.

After 8yrs in music 9 Double 7 finally released their award winning song, "Nepali Bhayera Hera" from the collection album PLATFORM (May,2008) from New Age Music Company.

PLATFORM contains songs from various new singers-such as 9Double7, s2s(Shreshan), Naina, iLLnani Surasha (Aastha), Aghor, Santosh Sitaula, Sudip Shrestha, Raunak Niraula & Sweta KC. 9Double7 are currently busy recordings songs of their own & some remix projects, collaborating songs with Rahul & The Rhythm from (Nepal, Sikkim & Europe), Mingma Sherpa and also did a remix album project song "Achha Lekin london ko chiso" by Devika Pradhan & Mingma Sherpa.

9double7 have performed in more than 58 live concerts at a various places of Nepal like Basantapur, Bhaktapur, Jwalakhel ground, BICC, Dhulikhel, 1905, Hyatt, Brikutimandap, and so on.. and internationally 2 shows at Dubai and 1 show at Sydney, Australia.

Right now we are promoting new artist through our website www.babbaal.com and also co ordinating and running 2 shows name On Air & Hello Doctor in Madhyapurba Fm 104 MHZ with our co-host Ajab & Kiran, We have our own “In House Production” where we make a Jingle & Ads for Fm.
