Since Babbaal.com has come to new look, it's our duty to provide masala entertainment to our digital readers. The day was sunny and so was the tension coz we all agreed to do some gossip wid a new but, not so new yet, underground nep-hop band 9 double 7. Believe me I was so hooked by both Suraj & Sudir that I couldn't resist but was determined to provide at least one of the song for u guys there with an interview plus. Well, I enjoyed all the procession of interview I guess u too will also be in luv with them.

Suraj: Thank you for the platform.
Sudir: Nice of you.

Though u already are a winner of menifesto challenge organized by wave mag with samudaya.org & already popular in masses what took you to be underground yet?
Suraj: We are not in hurry to go to main stream n release an album yet.. cuz we still r working on the songs, lyrics, n we want to make our each song very good. We almost give 1 yr to complete our each song, so that it sounds good..

What made you to join hip-hop though you could either getin mainstream pop?
Suraj: We were so touched by the beat, lyrics, flow and reality based lyrics of the songs. So we got into hiphop.

So, let me and all ur fans know when r u coming with ur first baby i.e' album?
Sudir: It takes time.. may be 2/3 years. We did have many songs recorded for the album. But we want to do more songs n select from it. We want to work hard for our each songs. We need the comments about our songs from our listeners.

What flavors could we expect in it?
Suraj: There would be reality based songs like, songs about real life. True love n tragedy, current situation of our country, people n life, R n b songs, rock n rap, mixed rap, mixed with remix songs, n we also going to work with one dj n rapper frm Holland, and many nephop rappers from abraod, which takes time. Cuz we want to make our album evergreen.

How do you coup with lyrics & music composition?
Suraj: We both write lyrics in various subject, then we compose song with a beat and we record that song in home over n again. If we find any mistakes we correct it and if we feel like doing some changes in our song we change it. and after the song practice and composing finally get done we hit the studio and record the song finally. that's how we make a song.

Everyone has his own defination but define your attitude "hip-hop"?
Suraj: It's a feeling of what we have inside and what we really want to share and talk. Which we express through song with the combination of music, lyrics, beat and flow..
Sudir: Hip-hop is not just a word or not just wearing baggy pants and large t-shirts n lockets. Hiphop is the feeling that we express with the lyrics through the music. It is the easiest way to convey ani message through musical way. Its the thing that comes throughout your heart plus through ur mind. As a whole hiphop is the combination of mind n heart from which we express the information with the help of music.

Tell us something about ur award winning "Nepali bhayera hera"?
Suraj: Actually I was thinking of doing a song about the situation of our country cuz that point of time our country was going on a brutal phase, and was not in a good situation it was really bad n worse than ever so my cousion bro Nirmal K. Shrestha from Dhulikhel gave me the lyrics and at the same time I heard about the "Manifesto rap challenge" organized by Wave magazine & Samudaya.org so I decided to do this song for that contest. I asked Jehova and Bisow Shrestha to do collaboration with me. Cuz at that time Sudhir (Rappye) was abroad so then we did a song at the last date of contest and submitted it. At that time I was having typhoid even though we did it. And finaly the result came out after one month as a winner. Thanks to Nirmal K Shrestha for the lyrics, Dj aj for da beat, Jehova and Bishow Shrestha for collaborating song with us. And Sarad Singh for recording n helping out.

What do u think that make you different in nep-hop than the usals?
Suraj: I guess its cuz of our hard work & struggle we doing since 5 yrs. We have been more active on our music like we are doing songs time by time. We have performed in almost more than 30 concerts in nepal and 2 in Dubai though our album is not out. Our songs are playing in fm stations of Nepal. We are giving Interviews, Doing Shows..collaborating songs for professional singers, even we are underground.
Sudir: We are different then usuals nephop coz we are more experienced and we are making the songs in different types with different situational lyrics with nice beats.

Who do you think as your musical fantasy?
Suraj: Internationally its Snoop/2pac n Notorious big. But we can't point to only few rappers. Talking about international its almost all rappers.
Sudir: It's all that suraj mentioned.

It's whispered that hip-hop is voilating mainstream Nepali pop. Your take?
Suraj: I don't agree with that. cuz you can see hiphop is so demanded these days even pop singers like Nima Rumba, Araj Kesav and Rajan Ishan are rapping and hiphop is added in almost all type of songs like pop, remix, lok and adhunik.
Sudir: We don't agree with this phrase that hiphop is violating pop. Coz pop is different and hiphop is another one. You can see that now a days many pop artist are using the hiphop music n featuring rappers and many pop singers are turning into hiphop artist, so I totally disagree with this phrase.

When willl Babbaal.com get ur album?
Sudir: As we said earlier we are still working hard, we need to learn many things about music and work hard so I guess you'll gotta wait for 2/3 years for our album n we promise that our album will have versatile nephop songs.

whom do u mostly appreciate among nep-hops?
Suraj: Firstly we respect n appreciate 9double7, that's a funny note, Nepsydaz, Sarad Singh. lady rapper Surasha, Jehova, Sinis, Cyclops, Lazyboi, Dj Gorkhali, Ngb, Aghor KC, En wun, Gkaji, Nsk and so on............
Sudir: Laziboi, Nirnaya, Nepsydaz, 977.

Last word to the lovers of nep-hop guys?
Suraj: Be original if u are truly into music then dedicate yourself into it. Don’t copy The songs and lyrics of others and dont do songs just to be popular and just to appear yourself in TV n media. Do it by heart.
